Welcome back to Savoring Saturdays! There is a chill in the air, the clocks have been changed and I am officially craving comfort foods. So in addition to stews and butternut squash soup, that means cake, cake and more cake. Oh and cookies. And, of course, donuts. Good thing this week’s most popular link is Cinnamon Sugar Donuts from Forest and Fauna.
So sweet potatoes must be in the air because Athletic Avocado and I both made sweet potato cakes this week! However, theirs is a quick bread: Sweet Potato Oatmeal Bread with Pecan Streusel. Quick breads make the perfect comfort food but I never thought to make one with sweet potato. Now I can’t wait to try it! Bonus, Athletic Avocado made a steusel topping! Love it!
When I woke up this morning. I literally thought, “I could go for some banana bread for breakfast.” This Banana Chia Seed Paleo Breakfast Cake from Cook It Up Paleo would have come in handy. Heather said she would would bake over the weekend and then have the spoils for breakfast all week. Hmm, the weekend is here. I think maybe it’s meant to be.
