Welcome back to Savoring Saturdays! The crispness of autumn is officially here (well, at least here in the Northeast) and I have broken out the sweaters. With this time of year comes cravings for the season’s bounty: pumpkin, apple (in my husband’s case, brussel sprouts) and everything spiced with cinnamon. I’m guessing you are all feeling it too because this week’s most popular link was: Apple Pie Quick Bread from Strength & Sunshine. That right there sums up comfort. Mmm, mmm!
My features this week also marry comfort with appley goodness. Mary from Homemade Dutch Apple Pie shared Spiced Apple Ice Cream which blew my mind. She sautees apples in butter, spices and honey and then mixes them into cinnamon ice cream. And if that wasn’t drool-worthy enough, she suggests mixing in pecans or eating it with gluten-free graham crackers!
Or perhaps I’d go nuts and eat it with these Apple Fritter Muffins from Sandi’s Allergy Free Recipes. Just look at the gooey goodness in that photo. I am literally salivating from writing this post! thank you Sandi for contributing to my delinquency.
