Savoring Saturdays: A Weekly Gluten free & Healthy Living Linky Party

Welcome back to Savoring Saturdays! As you can see from my bio I am a die hard chocolate addict. Of all the dietary restrictions I have had over the years, and there have been many, I cannot give up chocolate. Other caffeine…sure. Dairy for the most part…OK. Garlic…annoying but I did it for a few years. But chocolate, now that’s just going too far! Hell no! I refuse to go more than a few days without it. In fact, I just spent the last two days in a bean to bar chocolate making class. The amount of labor required to bring you that Lindt bar is absolutely astonishing! I am left with an even stronger reverence for chocolate so I am happy to announce that this week’s most popular link was: Sea Salt Chocolate Caramels from Forest and Fauna. Well deserved!

Cooling weather combined with a craving for fall flavors has me seriously wanting this Dairy Free Ginger Squash Soup from Real Wholesome. That right there is comfort in a bowl.

And talk about fall flavors, National Apple Day was this week. In case that one passed you by, it is not too late to try these Grain Free Apple Cinnamon Mini Muffins from The Tasty Alternative. I love me a good muffin and these are even grain-free! The mini muffin size is going to have me popping these bad boys like tic tacs.

My last feature is not a recipe but I had to give a shout out to Dr. Jennifer Weinberg MD. She wrote a brilliant article Hug a Fat: Why Fat is Not the Enemy! which honestly makes me want to hug her! Amen sister! You must take a few minutes to read this.

  1. Oh my goodness - I know what you mean about not being able to give up the chocolate! Not for myself, but for my husband funnily enough. He's had a lot of food/gut issues over the years and he's committed to doing whatever it takes to make things better but the one food he can't give up for more than a few weeks at a time is chocolate. Those chocolate caramel balls look incredible - I'm so making those for him (and me!). Sarah recently posted...Vegan Chocolate Chip Pumpkin CookiesMy Profile
